Nakashima is a contemporary artist whose works address complex, interconnected relationships through images that are apparently representational at first glance, but become increasingly abstract and unknowable to the observant viewer.
Kistner Atrium & Rowe Promenade, Through September 25
Works by art department faculty members at Augusta State University, to be shown in conjunction with the Nakashima exhibit. Featuring paintings, photography, prints, sculpture and ceramics by Kristin Casaletto, Jackson Cheatham, Priscilla Hollingsworth, Alan C. MacTaggart, Philip Morsberger, Jennifer Onofrio, Raoul Pacheco, Brian Rust, and Janice Williams Whiting.

Meet the artist currently featured in our main Fowler Gallery, and learn about his artistic processes. Nakashima is the William S. Morris Eminent Scholar in Art at Augusta State University. He is a painter and printmaker who has exhibited internationally. Presented as part of the Gwinnett County Public Library’s new Fall into the Arts program, this lecture and reception is free and open to the public.
