Lunch & Learn: Pruning Workshop

Sharpen your skills at this fundraising Lunch & Learn workshop at the Hudgens Center for Art & Learning. The $20 ticket price includes lunch and proceeds will support the Hudgens Center, Al Weeks Sculpture Garden fund.

Pruning Workshop Saturday, March 3, 2018
10 AM to 2 PM*
*Note – Formal presentations will conclude about 1 PM, however pruning and tool sharpening will continue until 2PM and Master Gardeners will remain on site to answer questions.

The 4-hour workshop will include a presentation, demonstrations and Q&A with The Pruning Guru, Rick Smith, a Georgia Certified Landscape Professional ( GCLP ). Topics and activities will include:

Why and when to prune
Pruning do’s and don’ts
Tools and techniques for pruning
Best pruning practices for specific plants
Examples of successful pruning projects
Before and after pictures
Lunch**, Q&A and networking among Georgia Master Gardeners
Pruning demonstrations will take place in the garden
Tool sharpening demonstrations
Tool Inspections and Recommendations (Attendees are encouraged to bring their tools)
Tool Sharpening will be available for an additional fee (estimates will be provided onsite)
**Vegetarian and Gluten Free options are available for lunch, please contact the Hudgens Center to make these requests or with any other questions.
